Truckstops
Products that fit our needs
With 350 staff in 17 branches across New Zealand, it was fundamental that Truckstops found the right solution to enable its team to work at height safely while repairing and servicing oversized vehicles.
After trialing a number of suppliers across three branches, the company worked with Equiptec to find a product that really fit the specific needs of its workshops.
“We found Equiptec to be very responsive to our needs,” said Chris Brown, General Manager of parent company Sime Darby Motors NZ. “They ended up making a few modifications to make the product really fit our needs and what we wanted it to do.”
Previously relying on ladders or a work platform, Truckstops were pleased to find a safer, more efficient solution in the Monkey and VRS Squirrel.
Branch Manager of Truckstops Napier, Pat Rumble, was pleased at the ability of the VRS systems to manoeuvre around the busy commercial workshop environment: “The solution needed to be able to be able to turn on a dime, which it can do. It needed to be a one-person operation, which it is.”
Working on trucks of all different sizes, and with workshops of different capacities, Truckstops found that having both the Monkey and VRS Squirrel systems enabled them to always have the right tools for the job.
Chris Brown said, “Working with Equiptec — and the Squirrel and Monkey products — has been a great way to manage the risk of working at height.”
